Cognizant Extends Gilead Partnership for Five Years, Will Apply AI to DevOps

Cognizant extended its work with Gilead Sciences for five years, and will continue evolving Gilead’s development and operations (DevOps) capabilities. An AI builder and technology services provider, Cognizant bridges AI investment and enterprise value with full-stack AI solutions for clients.

Cognizant to Apply Agentic AI

More specifically, Cognizant plans to promote the responsible application of agentic AI tools across certain technology programs. Using its life sciences and technology experience, Cognizant will focus on various practical use cases. These, ideally, will simplify processes, improve delivery, and assist Gilead teams in efficiently executing priority technology programs.

For more than a decade, Cognizant says, it has supported Gilead’s global IT infrastructure, platforms, applications, and advanced analytics. Now, the extension of its partnership provides additional support for DevOps and AI-enabled capabilities.

Gilead Looking at Scientific, Business Improvements

Gilead, meanwhile, seeks to strengthen the technology foundations underpinning its priorities both in science and in business.

“Our focus is on giving our teams reliable, efficient technology,” Gilead Global Chief Information Officer Anna Berg Asberg said. “This agreement provides additional support as we strengthen our DevOps capabilities and evaluate practical, responsible uses of AI.”

Contract Pharma last reported on the Cognizant–Gilead partnership in January 2025. At that time, Cognizant announced an extension of the collaboration aimed at delivering greater cost leadership and productivity enhancement.
